Now I've completed the second in this series of 3 books (so far) and I understand a little more than when I finished the first book, but I still don't know why it all came about to begin with. I guess the Author is waiting for the last book to reveal all.The "monster" seemed much more ominous when viewed for the first time in the 1st story, less so horrifying by now, but still a very nasty character. But I do feel let down by this story. There is just so much of any monster a person can take, and by now I've seen enough, but if I want to know the where and why of it all I still have Book 2 to read. I keep hoping that by the time I finally reach the end I will be happier about spending my time reading this tale.

WARNING! These "books" are CLIFFHANGERS! I got the first one and this one at the same time because they were free. The prequel, Book 0, ended with the cliffhanger, which I kind of expected. When this one ended the same way, I was furious! I felt ripped off, not of money, but of time wasted reading it. I will not waste my time with other books in this series. The book descriptions should state that these are cliffhangers so unwary people won't be caught off-guard like I was.
This store more than gave me a break from the everyday hum drum ,it kept my attention for hour and hours ,very well written and the store just seemed to flow,at times it had you on the edge of your seat the good guys were good and the bad guys bad and the monster the monster
OH WOW!! I just finished the book and what a conclusion! It was awesome. What a tale to travel through. A very good read. You have to give it a try, you just can't stop. I LOVED it James Hunt !!
Loved the prequel. Then went right to this one. Tho this book is scary I was more involved in finding out what happens next! Even having trouble going to sleep because I just HAD to know! Fantastic ride thru this story. Ready for the next one.
A monster story that should be read during the day. The visual descriptions placed the reader within the bayou. The story is told from the POV of Owen Cooley desperate to keep his family together, fed and a roof over their heads. Some of the back histories of characters was a bit much, but overall it was a good story.
I read the prequel, which kept me on the edge of my seat (I definitely recommend reading it 1st!) & couldn't wait to start book 1! It did not disappoint! The plot keeps rolling with twists & turns that made it difficult to put down!
This was a pretty good story. It was a fast read and had its share of scare and thrills. It was hard for me to get attached to the characters as they lacked a little depth, but on the whole it was a good book.
